GTA 6: Take-Two's Zelnick reaffirms Nov. 19, says GTA Online stays and gives no PC plan
At Take-Two's Sept. 17 stockholder meeting, CEO Strauss Zelnick reaffirmed GTA 6's Nov. 19 single-player launch, called GTA Online "a robust business" and said no recurrent consumer spending is anticipated at launch.

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick reaffirmed the Nov. 19 release of Grand Theft Auto VI at the company's 2026 annual meeting of stockholders on Sept. 17, describing it as a single-player game for PlayStation 5 and Xbox. He also said Take-Two will keep supporting GTA Online and anticipates no recurrent consumer spending with this launch, according to Inven Global's report of the meeting.
Zelnick did not announce a PC version or an online mode for GTA 6. What he said about PC concerned Take-Two's business as a whole.
Nov. 19 on two platforms
"We're launching GTA 6 as a single player experience on two major platforms," Zelnick told stockholders, according to Inven Global. Those two are PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, the only platforms Rockstar or Take-Two has named since Trailer 1 in December 2023.
The date itself is Rockstar's. The studio announced it on Nov. 6, 2025, when it moved the game back from May 26, 2026.
Zelnick also said GTA 6 will be localized in 13 languages at launch, according to Inven Global. The Rockstar Store lists them: English, French, Italian, German, Russian, Japanese, Polish, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Spanish (Mexico), Spanish (Spain) and Portuguese (Brazil).
What Take-Two said on Aug. 7
About six weeks before the meeting, Take-Two put the date in writing in its earnings release for the first quarter of its 2027 fiscal year.
| Date | Where | What Take-Two said |
|---|---|---|
| Aug. 7 | Quarterly earnings release | Spoke of "excitement around the November 19th launch of Grand Theft Auto VI"; its lineup table names PS5 and Xbox Series X|S |
| Aug. 7 | Investor presentation | Expressed a "high degree of confidence" about Nov. 19 and reported an "exceptional start to pre-orders" |
| Sept. 17 | Annual stockholder meeting | "We're launching GTA 6 as a single player experience on two major platforms" (reported by Inven Global) |
Take-Two attached no figures to that pre-order comment. Any unit or revenue number you see, such as a Sensor Tower estimate, comes from a third party, not from Take-Two.
GTA Online stays
Zelnick called GTA Online "a robust business" that Take-Two will keep supporting, according to Inven Global. That is the online mode of GTA V. Take-Two's Aug. 7 presentation also described new content for it, including the Rockstar Mission Creator.
He did not announce an online mode for GTA 6. Neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has named, dated or priced one, and both console store listings call the game a single-player experience. Our guide Does GTA 6 have online? collects the official statements on the question.
"No recurrent consumer spending anticipated"
On spending, Zelnick said "there's no recurrent consumer spending anticipated with regard to this launch," Inven Global reported. His words cover the launch. He did not say what Take-Two expects after it.
The console store pages still show purchase labels: "In-game purchases optional" on the PlayStation Store and "+Offers in-app purchases" on the Xbox Store. The ESRB's M rating, issued in early October, also lists In-Game Purchases. None of them says what it covers, and Rockstar and Take-Two have not announced microtransactions for GTA 6. Our ratings story explains what the ESRB label can include.
PC is "more and more important," with no GTA 6 plan
When a question came up about the timing of Take-Two's PC releases, Zelnick answered that PC is becoming "more and more important" and that Take-Two aims to release its games where a meaningful audience exists, Inven Global reported. He named no PC plan or date for GTA 6.
Take-Two's own Aug. 7 lineup matches that. Its table lists PC for other games, including Judas and NBA 2K27, and lists GTA 6 only for "PS5, Xbox Series X|S." Our guide Is GTA 6 on PC? follows the question.

Our countdown runs to the start of Nov. 19 in your time zone, and the release date guide traces every change to the date. Everything Rockstar and Take-Two have confirmed is on our confirmed-facts ledger.
