Rockstar Games

Rockstar Games named six of Grand Theft Auto VI's radio stations on Oct. 8: Cocoteo FM, Back Country Radio, AfroBank FM, The Chamber 106.6, Flash FM and Dirty South Classics. It also said GTA 6 is the first game in the series with on-demand podcasts, and that Jason and Lucia can listen on foot through headphones or earbuds connected to their phones.

The stations came in a Rockstar Newswire post and on a new music page on Rockstar's GTA 6 site, which plays a short preview of each one. Rockstar did not publish a tracklist for any of them.

Six of many

Rockstar calls GTA 6's radio "the biggest and widest-ranging selection of in-game radio yet," with stations covering everything from Classic Rock to Talk Radio. The six it named are a sample: the post introduces them as "six of the stations featured in Grand Theft Auto VI." The Classic Rock and Talk Radio stations don't have names yet.

A reporter in an airboat

Back Country Radio's hosts, MW and Delta Dawne, play renegade country to the Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn and beyond, Rockstar says. The station has a roving reporter too: Mud Dog Mike, a swamp meteorologist who calls in from the driver's seat of his Grassrivers airboat. Rockstar describes him as Delta's "not-so-secret lover."

Flash FM is back

Flash FM was the pop station in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City in 2002, and the name returns in GTA 6. Robyn and Alex host it, and Rockstar calls it "the Vice City institution" for pop music, promising it will make you dance anywhere in the Goodtime State.

Podcasts, and radio on foot

GTA 6 adds a series of on-demand podcasts for Jason and Lucia, a first for the series, according to Rockstar. Both the radio and the podcasts play in vehicles and on foot, through what Rockstar calls "newly introduced headphones and earbuds" connected to the characters' smartphones. Rockstar has not named any of the podcasts.

Three new screenshots

Rockstar released three new screenshots alongside the stations: the highway at the top of this story, a night gathering of cars with glowing underlights, and an orange sports car on a rain-soaked Vice City street outside the Ocean View Hotel. They are on our screenshots page with every other official GTA 6 screenshot.

What's still unknown

  • The songs. Rockstar has not published a tracklist for any station. It also hasn't said whether songs from Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album play on the radio.
  • The rest of the stations, including the Classic Rock and Talk Radio ones.
  • The podcasts' names and hosts.
  • The dynamic score. Rockstar says details on the score, and more singles from The Album, are coming.

The Album has 34 original tracks and comes out Nov. 19, the same day as the game. Six singles are already out. Our radio stations guide has everything Rockstar has said about each station. Our soundtrack guide covers The Album and its singles.
